From 6 to 10 October 2025, partners of the SoilWise Project gathered in Wageningen, the Netherlands, for the project’s second annual meeting, hosted by ISRIC. The gathering brought together consortium members to further develop the SoilWise Catalogue.

This European Union-funded project aims to make accessible scattered and heterogeneous soil data and knowledge in Europe, making them FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable).

The catalogue presents a subset of sources from various repositories related to the soil domain.

Although several challenges were identified, the annual meeting yielded a highly positive outcome. The collaborative approach enabled tangible progress on the catalogue, strengthened partnerships, and clarified next steps for development.

Instead of relying on traditional presentation-heavy formats, this year’s meeting emphasised interactive sessions, co-creation, and practical testing, fostering an environment of productivity, open exchange, and positive momentum.

Beyond technical achievements, the meeting cultivated a sense of shared purpose and momentum, leaving participants energised for the next phase of the project.
