The Organising Committee of the 2023 Wageningen Soil Conference invites soil scientists from around the world to submit abstracts of their work for oral as well as poster sessions. Abstracts are due by April 17, 2023 and should fit within one of the following topics of the conference:

The kick-off event of the ORCaSa project was hosted in the wonderful settings of Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra, Italy, from 26-28 October, 2022. The Horizon Europe project, short for Operationalising the International Research Cooperation on Soil Carbon (ORCaSa), aims to bring together all stakeholders working on soil carbon capture and storage techniques at an international level.

On 19-20 September 2022, the Land, Soil, and Crop Information Services (LSC-IS) to support Climate-Smart Agriculture project held a national stakeholders' workshop in Nairobi, Kenya. Over 40 participants from farmers' associations, public, private, and development organizations attended the two-day event.

Wageningen University & Research and ISRIC - World Soil Information are delighted to announce that the 5th edition of the Wageningen Soil Conference will take place from August 28 - September 1, 2023. The theme of this conference edition will be: "Working together on solutions for a sustainable world." Besides interesting speakers, poster sessions and masterclasses (see below), the conference will offer an original and enjoyable social programme, including a conference dinner. Soil experts, data scientists and IT operators from across Europe joined a three-day training on soil data good practices in the scope of the INSPIRE directive at Wageningen University and Research in April 2022. ISRIC - World Soil Information staff organised the main portion of the modules.

The first modelling meeting of Climate Smart WATer Management and Sustainable DEVelopment for Food and Agriculture in East Africa (WATDEV) project was successfully held in Wageningen, the Netherlands from 11-12 October 2022. The main goals were to select models to be used for simulating scenarios of best management practices (BMPs) and innovations in the project study areas and development of a toolbox. The workshop was organized by ISRIC – World Soil Information and chaired by Dr Jantiene Baartman.
